This is an abbreviated version of the Ten Commandments found in Exodus,an Old Testament book chronicling Israel's departure from Egypt, the giving of the law (The Ten Commandments) and the tabernacle. > What do the Ten Commandments mean to us today? > But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."...He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, "You shall not murder,You shall not commit adultery,You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother, and,You shall love your neighbor as yourself... When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:17-26 (NKJV) We are saved by grace through what Christ did for us on the cross. The Ten Commandments reveal our imperfections, but only through Christ, are our sins erased. | Designed by Diane Higdon:"I especially like to stitch this design for churches and pastors because I feel like it sort of "links" our church with other churches. I also like to do them for missionaries""I have done the original in shades of: blue, wine, green, lavender, and, I think, tan. I mostly make them in blues, wines, or greens, but I supposed you could do anything you want. I always use 3 shades of the same color but it would be fun to see how creative people are with the colors."This design fits a standard 12 x 16" frame or 16 x 20" frame with a mat

| Amy Keus Nanjing, China Yes, I'm pretty international. I'm the music specialist at an expatriate private school in China, for the children of Western businessmen. One of my bestfriends had lived in Mexico before coming to China When I knew she was demobilising again, I made your cross-stitch for her as a gift of love. She adored living in Mexico and learned Spanish quite well. But she wasn't ready to leave China either! So I cross-stitched the names of Jesus in Spanish and sewed traditional Chinese silk around the edges, to represent the two countries. |
