I also stitched this newer pattern - JOY recently. I used DMC Variations floss in purple shades for the large Joy in the center. I chose matching solid shades for the verses. I really like the results.
The floss for the joy picture was DMC variegated #51, purple #327, and lavender #209. The 'Joy" picture reminds me what God wants for me every day.

I really like your patterns. I gave "The Names of Jesus" to a minister friend and "Joy" was a gift to another minister that I work with. When I stitched "Joy" I used DMC 4245 variegated floss for the word Joy and the colors that make up 4245 (550, 791, 796, 939) for the verses. When I use variegated floss, I stitch diagonal rows. It can be harder to count but I think the color change is nicer.
Blessings,
Judy
Fully enjoyed stitching this pattern from you and finished in less than 3 days. I couldn't put it down!
Thank you,
